Course of Study

After completing your entrance qualifications you are able to begin a three year social and cultural sciences degree of your choosing at the Viadrina.

You can chose amongst our four possible discipline, choosing two are your main areas of interest:

  • Cultural History
  • Literature
  • Linguistics
  • Comparative social studies


Moreover you take on a module which teaches practical relevance of study contents. Furthermore you either choose a business or law module. You will learn two languages and complete a time abroad in a studying or internship capacity. The course of study is designed to be very flexible and because of this you have many study possibilities to choose from.



After completing your Bachelor’s you can chose to further your studies by studying in one of our specialized Master’s programs. A Master’s program would last another four semesters and consists of the following options:

  • European Cultural History
  • Intercultural Communication Studies
  • Socio-cultural Studies
  • Culture and History of Middle and Eastern Europe
  • European Studies
  • Cultural Management and Cultural Tourism
  • European Cultural Heritage
